Survival

Survival is a text based adventure game written by some friends of mine in the mid 1980's. I got a credit in it because I did some testing or something but I really didn't contribute a lot.

It runs on a BBC Micro model B with BASIC I or BASIC II, some features require OS 1.2. It was written for a cassette filing system but should work ok with a floppy disk filing system as long as PAGE as not set too high as memory is tight. It should have no problems running on a BBC Master.

It comes in two files "SURVIVAL" which does some initialisation and "SURVIVAL2" which contains the main code. Some data is stored in OS memory locations, requiring PAGE to be set to &E00 or higher before running it. If PAGE is lower than &E00 (such as on a second processor configuration or on some BBC Micro simulators), set it to &E00 using the command:

PAGE=&E00
before starting the program with the command:
CHAIN "SURVIVAL"
